FAQ

  • What makes it take 2-3 months to make a batik cloth?
Lasem batik home industry still maintains manual labour and nowadays, there are very few batik makers (most of them are in their 50's) that there's so much they can do in one day. The motifs are very intricate that no machine or print tools can copy them. Some designs have very complicated colors, so they need several times dipped in the dyeing tubs. However, you'll see how it really is worth the wait.
  • How can I wear my batik?
Since Lasemese batiks are all hand-drawn, hence they are works of art, we do not recommend you to cut them for clothes. Some motifs can, but mostly they are better left uncut. You can wear them daily by simply tying them (we can share the tutorials, if you want!) into very stylish harem pants or skirts.
  • What if after I place a batik order, I have a change of mind?"
You can still have a change of mind and heart within 24 hours after you place an order - or basically before you pay for a 50-percent down payment. Don't worry, we will not process your order until we receive the down payment. However, if you change your mind after we process your order(s), we cannot refund your down payment and we will put your order(s) once they are ready to our ready stock product(s) for others to buy.
  • How can I order if the batik I want is not ready stock?
Email to juragan.batik.lasem@gmail.com the name of the batik you want. After taking your order(s), you are required to pay a 50-percent non refundable down payment to BCA account number 1062102611 (account bearer: Fransiska Anggraini) within 24 hours. We will keep you updated on the progress of your order and when your batik is finally ready, before we send it to your address, you will need to complete the balance within 24 hours to the same account.
